Commissioning of Online NGO School by MS4A
On Wednesday the 7th of July 2021, Management Solution for Africa (MS4A) commissioned its Online/Virtual NGO School/Resource Training Centre (Organization Development Market Place) at 25 Idanre Hill Street, AMSSCO Platinum Estate, Abuja. The theme of the event was “Strengthening the Nigerian Civic Space through Local Organizational Capacity Development Service Provision”.
Management Solution for Africa is a business development consulting firm that provides services to start-up NGOs on new business development and resource mobilization, project management and proposal development, linking NGOs to donor grants and facilitating NGO start-up.
The event was graced by representatives of various Civil Society Organizations and other guests, who were either physically present or present online via Zoom.
The Convener of the event and Chief Executive Officer for Management Solution for Africa, Dr. (Mrs.) Josephine Egwuonwu after the opening prayer, commenced the event with a brief overview of MS4A, then went on to say that although the NGO School by MS4A has been in existence since 2009, the commissioning of the Virtual NGO School was to a large extent influenced by COVID-19 protocols so as to reach more people around the world without them having to come down to Nigeria.
The event was a success and the goal of enlightening the guests/participants about the vision of the online NGO School was achieved.
A total of 14 guests were physically present at the venue and over 20 online guests via zoom.
Pastor Sam Omoyaki had the honor of commissioning the Online NGO School in a ceremonious and Godly manner.
The guests and MS4A family were thrilled to a captivating keynote address by Dr. Mrs. ChiChi Aniagolu-Okoye (Country Director, Technoserve, Abuja) with the topic – “The Economic Importance of the Civil Space in Nigeria today”.
Goodwill messages from high ranked individuals that are making meaningful impact in their communities and organizations including: Mrs. Lydia Odeh (Chief of party, USAID) was also worth the mention.
Overall, the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive, with 100 percent of participants commenting favorably and strongly supporting the vision of the Online NGO School.
Mrs. Jennifer Ukaobasi, a former student and graduate of the Management Solution for Africa NGO School, acknowledged Dr. Mrs. Josephine Ogazi, and spoke on how the NGO School had helped her to know the various intricacies which are required for an NGO to become stable and well facilitated years ago. She is currently the Executive Director of Youth Emancipation & Rehabilitation Foundation (YERF).
Other representatives and Dignitaries spoke positively about the commissioning of the Online NGO School and also about Dr. Mrs. Josephine Ogazi but one of the Dignitaries, Mr. Damilare Babalola, was so moved, in his own words he said; “He would like to thank Mrs. Josephine Ogazi for the opportunity to be a part of this initiative, and that this initiative is the type that he would like to see flourish and spring forth as far as civil society organizations are concerned”.
The commissioning wasn’t all flawless as the IT team experienced some difficulty connecting the camera to the zoom channel after much successful test run in the past. The zoom video was not stable even after connection. However, the zoom guests were encouraged to stream and follow up the event live from the CEO, MS4Africa personal Facebook handle.
It was indeed a memorable event to remember.
